Don't Feed The Poets
Hosted by poet John
Citizen... features
musician Philip Jeays (who supported Robin
Ince's Bleeding Heart Liberal tour in 2009 and took part
in the Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless People shows at
Christmas) and poet
Rob Auton.
Philip Jeays is quite simply
one of this country's finest singer/songwriters. With his powerful
chanson style delivery he's often been referred to as the 'english
Jacques Brel', he's the real deal and more.
Rob Auton's quirky
leftfield poems were a big hit at last years edinburgh fringe.
He's currently working on a show for TV and also co-runs
the popular weekly cabaret event, Bang Said The Gun, in london.
John
Citizen has played countless gigs over the years
at various venues, he juggles the page/stage divide without
dropping his 'aitches and somehow managed to get a poem in
the national syllabus, he's still at that difficult age. |

Katy and Rach Make
Stuff Up
You’ve never seen anything like Katy
and Rach.
It’s spontaneous theatre. Two award-winning
actresses, one story, real characters. One hour. Completely
improvised. It’s like watching people fly.
“Laugh-out-loud funny and technically impressive...
One to look out for when they return” -
The Argus
**** Three Weeks
"The most stunning aspect of this
show is that is completely improvised, so you leave the
venue arguing with your friend / lover / date, that 'they
must have had a script'. Well in short, they don't. I checked
backstage. I even went through their bags and there's not
a script in sight" - Juice FM Sep 09
"Not only entertaining, but sensitive,
realistic and extremely enjoyable! ...Katy and Rach have
a wonderful connection and great energy between them. The
show left us on a high and you could tell that everyone
really enjoyed themselves. [Katy and Rach] never present
the same show twice so it's worth seeing more than once!
You never know what treats are in store" -
Fringe Review May 09 ****
"...In this performance road trip,
the pair created something both laugh-out-loud funny and
technically impressive. Improv was used artfully to inspire
a raw and unpredictable situation comedy...it was an hour
very well spent" - The Argus Jan 09 |
